Giiwedinong is the Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) word for “in the north”
It can also refer to ‘homecoming’ to the Ojibwe people.

Our Vision
The vision of the Giiwedinong museum is following the path of Mino-bimaadiziiwin (to live “the good life”) for all Indigenous peoples as given by the Creator and as carried by generations both behind and ahead.
Our cultural knowledge is grounded in our relationship to Akiing, the land to which we belong.
