Details: Membership and honoring historians at the Armory in Park Rapids, partnered with the OWAMNI by the Sioux Chef, serving traditional indigenous foods.
October 12: Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration
Details: On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate the invaluable contributions and resilience of Indigenous peoples, recognizing their inherent sovereignty.
Hosted by Giiwedinong in partnership with local indigenous peoples.
November 1: 3rd Annual Días de los Muertos Block Party
Details: Partnered with Vallarta’s Mexican Grill in Park Rapids with artists Guillermo Valadez and Ana Navarro.
January 21: National Day of Racial Healing
Details: The day following Martin Luther King Day, with local schools and using Kellogg Foundation digital platforms.
February 17: Chief’s Day
Details: Presentation and special exhibit/event hosted by Giiwedinong in partnership with local native historians and local schools.

Días de los Muertos, Day of the Dead, block party on November 1st, 2023! We will gather at the new Giiwedinong Treaty Rights and Cultural Museum located at 101 2nd Street West in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
