From August 15th to August 18th, the Shell River Alliance is hosting a Shell River Gathering at the Shell City campgrounds and also hosting a Water Protector reception at the Giiwedinong Museum on August 16th.
The Shell River Gathering will showcase a diverse range of activities, including story telling, ceremonies, music, canoeing, horseback riding, and discussions centered around the preservation of water and land. The Water Protector reception will offer a chance for attendees to meet and connect with individuals who share their passion for protecting the water.
Activities Line Up
On August 15th to August 18th, the Water Protector Opening begins at the Shell City Campgrounds.
Details: The campgrounds are secured for guests to come and camp. The Shell River Alliance is in charge of providing food.
On August 16th, the Water Protector reception will take place outside at the Giiwedinong Museum in Park Rapids, MN. The event will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Details: Water Protectors will be able to tour the Water Protector exhibit for free during the gathering, as well as attend a special event and a reception with food honoring Water Protectors at Giiwedinong.
